A paper manufacturer specializing in the production of special
papers (e.g. image printing papers with higher basis weights) and
wet-strength label papers was looking for a pump to convey coating
color. The pumps were supposed to convey the coating color from the
coating kitchen into the paper machine. The progressive cavity pump
previously used suffered from extreme wear and downtimes occurred
due to various faults.
Following a prolonged test phase, the paper manufacturer opted for
a Accuvon rotary lobe pump. The pump has individually pressurized
shaft seals. This prevents any pumped medium from penetrating
between the sliding surfaces of the seals. The tri-lobe screw
rotors convey the medium with low pulsation.
The customer is very satisfied with the Accuvon rotary lobe pump.
Plant productivity improved due to the long service life and the
reliable pumping. Additionally, the Accuvon rotary lobe pump is
more energy-efficient and pumps the coating color much more
consistently than the progressive cavity pump previously used did.
